Council Highlights
Since taking office in December 2003, here are some highlights of the issues that Council has dealt with:

Council approved the investment, which will serve as a catalyst for future economic activity on the City's waterfront.
City Council meeting of April 23 and 24, 2007 City of Toronto 2007 Operating Budget -
At a special meeting on April 20 and 23, Council approved the City’s $7.8 billion 2007 Operating Budget that maintains important municipal services, including police, fire, emergency services, libraries, roads, transit, waste collection, recycling, and parks and recreation.

City Council meeting of March 5, 6, 7 and 8, 2007 New design for street name signs -
Council adopted a new street name design style for the City of Toronto that introduces commonality of colour and shape, improves legibility, and proposes consistency and distinctiveness for those neighbourhoods and BIAs that request specific identification and branding.
City Council meeting of February 5, 6, 7 and 8, 2007 West Queen West Triangle appeal of OMB decision -
Council directed City officials to take actions on multiple fronts to appeal a decision by the Ontario Municipal Board on the West Queen West Triangle developments. The OMB overruled the City's rejection of plans by developers to build condominiums in the neighbourhood that may have a negative impact on employment in this artistic community.
