Councillor Giambrone's Environment Day
Saturday, June 28th
10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Dufferin Mall, north parking lot
How many times have you heard that one person's trash is another person's treasure? It’s a familiar saying, and for good reason: it’s true! Bring your unwanted and unused “stuff” to your local Community Environment Day, hosted by City Councillor Adam Giambrone, and transform your trash into treasure.
We'll take all your used household items and make sure they get recycled or reused by folks who want and need them. Best of all, you’ll be keeping your junk out of the landfill, so everyone wins.
- Small household items like dishes and ornaments will go to Goodwill, along with books, linens and clothing. We'll even take your broken VCRs, cell phones, computers and other electronics and make sure they are properly recycled and/or disposed.
- You can drop off art supplies such as pencils, markers, crayons, yarn and fabric, as well as used buttons, costume jewellery and dress-up clothing. They will be donated to ArtsJunktion—a Toronto District School Board warehouse for teachers—and reused by creative young minds.
- Don't forget to bring us your leftover cleaning supplies and solvents, motor oil, paint, old and unused medication, mercury thermometers/thermostats and pesticides. These items are household hazardous wastes and need safe disposal.
Whew! That's a lot of stuff to get rid of.
What more can you ask for from these great events?
- Green Bins and Kitchen Containers are available for purchase, for exchange with broken ones or for free to new residents (with proper proof of new residency and identification)!
- There are water efficiency tools for sale such as rain barrels and indoor kits. There's also the paint exchange—bring some in or take at look at what’s been dropped off and help yourself.
- And of course, everyone’s favourite: the giant pile of FREE leaf compost. Come prepared with your own containers and shovels. Haul it away and spruce up your lawn, garden and flower beds.
All the Community Environment Days need is you. So hit your closets, basements, attics and garages for all the goods you can spare and then get out to join us on Saturday June 28th in the Dufferin Mall parking lot.
For a complete list of items that can be dropped off for recycling or safe disposal, as well as items available for you to pick up free or to purchase, visit www.toronto.ca/environment_days/activities.htm.

Clay & Paper Theatre Presents:
Day Of Delight
A celebration of love, courtship and desire!
June 14, 2008 at DufferinGrovePark, 2 to 5 PM
Dufferin south of Bloor
Pay-What-You-Can, $10 suggested
www.clayandpapertheatre.org
Join us the afternoon of Saturday, June 14 for the 6th annual Day of Delight! This celebration of love, courtship and desire presents more than 100 of Toronto’s most amorous artists, including whirling dervishes, theatre in English and Portuguese, a community chorus for love, two of Toronto’s hottest Samba bands, dance traditions from around the world, and much more!
About Clay & Paper Theatre:
Out amongst the community bake-ovens and lush
gardens of DufferinGrovePark, Clay & Paper Theatre has been changing the world. Completely! Irrevocably!
Medieval mystery plays, Punch and Judy shows,
African myths, Indonesian shadow puppetry, Native
Canadian masks, commedia dell’arte - all these and
more have influenced Clay & Paper Theatre. The
company is built on the accumulative experience of
David Anderson - theatre activist, producer of new
Canadian work, and defender of public space since
1969. This is theatre on the ground, for the
groundlings, in the park and on the street. This is
theatre of exaggeration, of giant puppetry, of satire and wit gone awry. This is a little theatre company asking big questions with humour and irreverence.
This is Clay & Paper Theatre.
